iBEAT: Loading Subject Images

Loading your subject images is easiest if your data is prepared using the recommended file names and directory structure. When you click the button at the top left that says “Load Subject Images,” a window will pop up. The window has three drop-down boxes at the top.

The first drop-down box allows you to select a subject from a list that contains Subject1 – Subject20. It is not important that the subject number corresponds to a subject ID. It is only important that the number of subjects you open is correctly identified. If you open only one subject, iBEAT will read that subject in as Subject1, even if their data is in directory S005.

The second drop-down box allows you to select a month from a list that contains months ##-##. This box should correspond to the number of months indicated by the timepoint folders you created.

The third drop-down box allows you to select an image type (T1, T2, FA).

You can make selections for each of these and click add images to open the files you want one-by-one. Alternatively, you can let iBEAT automatically recognize your files if they are in the recommended directory structure.

If you want to open all of the files from one timepoint, make a selection from the first two drop-down menus, then click add images. Navigate to the timepoint directory (e.g., S001-0) and click open.

If you want to open all of the files from all of the timepoints for a single subject, make a selection from the first drop-down menu, then click add images. Navigate to the subject directory (e.g., S001) and click open.

If you want to open all of the files from all of the timepoints from all of your subjects, do not make any selections in the drop-down menu, just click add images. Navigate to the directory containing all of your subjects directories and click open.
