About Me

I am currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI: https://www.childrenslearninginstitute.org) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. I also serve as Communications Chair for the Fetal, Infant, and Toddler Neuroimaging Group (www.fitng.org @FIT_NGIn).

I am passionate about using my research to help children reach their full potential. My work currently focuses on brain, language, and cognitive development in bilingual infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Background: I graduated in December 2018 with my Ph.D. in Developmental, Cognitive, and Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Houston, where I worked with Dr. Arturo Hernandez in the Laboratory for the Neural Bases of Bilingualism. After that, I completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Neuroscience at the Children’s Learning Institute with Dr. Dana DeMaster.
